(Andina) Peruvian actress Magaly Solier, who plays the starring role of Fausta in Claudia Llosa’s production “La Teta Asustada” (The Milk of Sorrow), said she has no words to describe her excitement over the nomination of “The Milk of Sorrow” as the Best Foreign Language Film in the 82nd Academy Awards.

"I’m speechless … I need to be by myself for a couple of hours …" said Solier after being given the shock news. Magaly Solier wasn’t paying attention to the nomination ceremony held in Los Angeles because she was working at her farm in Huanta.

According to the Peruvian actress, her mother joined her at the farm to tell her about the historic Oscar nomination.  "I went to the farm to work and I’ll keep working after I complete the interviews," he said in statements to America Noticias news.

Solier started from a very humble beginning, from a street vendor to become a successful actress recognized worldwide. She hopes that The Milk of Sorrow will win the 2010 Oscar as best foreign language film.

“However, she said that the mere nomination is seen as a triumph for Peruvian cinema.  "We are already winners to me. I think we have accomplished a lot so far this nomination," highlighted the actress.
