Arsenal no pudo mantener la ventaja tras el gol de Mesut Özil sobre los 80’, ya que cuatro minutos después Everton lograría el empate a través del español Gerard Deulofeu. A pesar del 1-1 final el once londinense se mantiene como puntero del campeonato inglés de futbol desarrollada la 15° fecha.
Tras la derrota del Chelsea (2-3 ante Stoke City) y el empate del Manchester City (1-1 con Southampton), la escuadra del Liverpool recuperó el segundo lugar – aunque por diferencia de goles – al golear por 4-1 al West Ham United con un tanto del uruguayo Luis Suárez.
Finalmente, Newcastle United dio la sorpresa en el Old Trafford, ya que con gol de Yohan Cabaye (61’), superó por la mínima diferencia al local Manchester United.
