Manchester City dirigido por el italiano Roberto Mancini, volvió a tomar la punta tras golear como local 3-0 al Fulham. Sergio Agüero, Chris Baird y Edin Dzeko anotaron los goles con el que el elenco celeste sumó 57 puntos.
Mientras tanto, Manchester United, clásico rival que compartía el liderato antes de jugarse la 24° jornada, empató 3-3 con Chelsea. El resultado en sí fue muy bueno si tomamos en cuenta que los rojos estaban 0- 3 en el marcador pues los de Londres habían adelantado mediante Evans, el español Juan Mata y el brasilero David Luiz. Luego con dos goles de penal de Rooney y un tanto del mexicano Javier Hernández el United logró darle alcance al Chelsea.
